Ben researches how networks shape economic and social outcomes. A 2012 PhD graduate of the Stanford Graduate School of Business, he earned tenure as a professor of economics at Harvard before joining Northwestern's economics and computer science departments in 2021. He has also taught at Stanford and the University of Pennsylvania, and was an early employee at Quora.

Yann then conducted research at the Institute for Fiscal Studies and Northwestern University. He is now at Harvard's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences pursuing graduate studies in computer science and applied mathematics.
